About the Breeder's
We are a Mother (Karis), Daughter (Sheri) team.
Karis and her daughter Sheri have been showing and breeding dog’s since 1982.
Sheri started in the 4-H dog program, showing her fathers hunting dog, the Vizslas and she had such a wonderful time showing our Vizslas. Unfortunately her Father needed his hunting dog on the weekends so she couldn't show during hunting season.
So mother and daughter started looking around at the AKC shows and were introduced to the Bichons Frises and fell in love with the breed. We showed and bred Bichons Frises until the early 1997. We had loved our Bichons Frises but decided we wanted a dog with more color.
So in 1998 we started looking for the Black Bichon or better known as the Bichon Havanese or Silky Bichon. After months of researching on the breed and looking around we found are first Havanese in November 1998; it was love at first sight for mom "Karis" when she saw the little black dog. He was named El Karis de Media "Noche". Noche was the very First Havanese shown in the AKC ring in Northern California and at first it was hard to find other dogs to compete against to earn is title, but he finally got his Championship in 2000 and he was 12th in the Breed. In 2001 Karis showed "Noche" and he finished 10th in the Nation for his breed.
Noche was invited to the Eukanba Invitational Dog show in Orlando, Florida where he was shown with the Top 20 Havanese in the Nation, it was an honor to show him at this show. Sadly, "Noche" is no longer with us. He had 14 champions and has been issued the Register of Merit "ROM" from the Havanese Club of America for this acheivment. He was 12th in the Nation in 2000 & 10th in 2001.
Our female Havanese Ch La Karis Princesa "Mindy" also received her ROM from the HCA. She is Sheri's first Havanese and still acts like a little puppy running around chasing everyone and jumping around the house. She refuses to believe she is 70 in human years.
Because we have a strong passion for showing and breeding the Havanese we have made a commitment to breeding only healthy Havanese that are great family pets and show dogs.
We adhered to the AKC and HCA standards. We take great pride in are Havanese. Our breeding Havanese are CERF’D (eyes) we also have the OFA on Hips, Knees, and Elbow and we BEAR (hearing) test, and cardiac test. We are serious in trying to put forth a healthily pet for all our owners.
